Just 2 days to go, 'til the Valley Park Life festival on Saturday! I'm looking forward to it greatly - there are some brilliant musicians, not to mention the company! (That's you.) I've found myself feeling the need to explain to people that it's just for fun, just to celebrate life... there's no hidden agenda. Of course we have a reason for throwing a party - and the Generous June theme (see below) sums it up. God is extravagant and generous in his love and grace. I'm not sure people always expect the church to be. But at our best that's exactly who we are as church (and who we're becoming) - a reflection of God's character! Jesus went to a lot of parties to show us what God's Kingdom is like - that place of extravagant love and grace, a welcome extended to all, no one excluded or left on the margins.
