With Jesus, our work, family life, friendships, and interests all serve a higher purpose. No matter how mundane our everyday tasks and interactions may seem, they all have deep purpose in God’s eyes. In our work, family life, friendships, interests, and neighbourhoods, we’re invited to join in with God’s plan to make earth more like heaven. And that means wherever we go and whatever we do, we do it with purpose – God’s hands and feet in his world. This Lent, we’re invited to join in following a devotional journey that invites us to think differently about all we do. Over 40 days, we’ll get to grips with the Bible’s view of purpose, and read true stories of how that purpose is worked out in all kinds of Christians’ lives today. We can do that by ourselves at home, by signing up to receive a daily email here. Most home groups have chosen to follow the small group discussion material, with a video each week covering the themes of purpose in work, in family, in friendship, in our interests, and in our neighbourhoods. There’s space if you’d like to join in for Lent - do drop myself or Nick Grew an email ([email protected]). And on Sundays, we’ll be looking at Jesus’ purpose, through the events of Holy Week - see p6 for details.
