At the AGM last April, we looked forward to a year of discovery! Last term we looked at discovering more of God, through His ‘press release’ (Exo34:6-7) and this term we will be exploring more of who we are as a church family. Nick will be starting off our series of talks looking at Biblical images of the local church. He’ll look at the image of a tapestry to describe church! Intrigued? Me too! (See p6 for the whole series). Last night at our half-termly Connect meeting, we explored how God guides us and what it might mean to hear Him. If we aren’t seeking God’s presence and guidance, we’re no different to any other club in our community. God speaks to us primarily through the Bible but He also speaks afresh into our lives and situations today by the Holy Spirit- never contradicting the Bible. He does it because He wants relationship with us! It’s a bit mind blowing to think that God would communicate with us today but we agreed last night that it would be amazing if we all took a little longer to be attentive to what God’s doing in our midst!
