This has been been our aim in our two Connect evenings this term and in our series of talks on Sundays. There, we've been looking at God's 'press release' to Moses in Exodus 34: 6&7: ‘The Lord, the Lord, a God compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for the thousandth generation, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, yet He does not leave the guilty unpunished…’ On Sunday I'll be looking at that last line - and about how it's good news for us.
When God first appeared to Moses it was in the burning bush, where God used his name 'I AM.' Jesus calls himself 'I AM' too: no surprise, since He is God! We'll take a look at some 'I Am' sayings of Jesus over the summer. In the meantime, do take a look at the notes attached to this email, from our last Connect evening, about how we can get to know God better. You may find them helpful to reflect on in home group or over the summer holidays. Then later in the Autumn term, we'll start to think more about who we are as a church family - what are our values and how can we reflect them?
