270521Newsletter: Generous June

Generous June is an initiative that seeks to engage churches, communities and individuals with generosity throughout the month of June. We'll be following a sermon series throughout June and you can follow daily readings each day from the booklet (found here under 'daily reflection booklet' https://www.generousjune.co.uk/resources/ or please ask us to print it out for you), or on the daily podcast: https://www.generousjune.co.uk . One of them has been written by one of the team here at St Francis - can you spot who?!

So, why are we looking at this? Aren't we generous enough? We're well on the way towards our target for the AV project - more details in due course, and please do contact Andrew ([email protected]) if you're planning to make a contribution - we're not quite there yet. We have hit our target in the 'Twin my vaccine' campaign and we'll be stopping that in another week - please donate now if you'd still like to, details on page 10.

And also, we rarely talk about giving in church and it can feel like a touchy subject - especially if we feel stretched to the limit already and are then asked for even more, whether that's time or money. But actually the context of any giving on our part is that we have a generous God who gave everything for us, and we're made in his image. Sometimes we give out of duty or guilt, rather than out of joy, recognising that all we have is God's anyway, and knowing we're held by grace. Those are some of the themes we will explore, so let's enjoy a generous June! There's an opportunity to be generous in supporting the Valley Park community association on the next pages - let's take this great opportunity to work togoether with others in our community.
