One of the highlights for me at Sunday’s carol service was the school choir singing ‘Mary did you know?’ The lyrics are so very profound. For example, ’did you know - this child that you've delivered will soon deliver you...’ There’s lots to discover about who Jesus is in this song, just as in so many of our carols (though I wasn’t sure about ‘no crying he makes’ in away in a manger; Jesus undoubtedly cried as a baby, as he was fully human!). I wonder if singing carols and reflecting on Christmas has raised questions about Jesus, for you, and those who’ve come along to services with you? In January we’ll do a short, 5 session alpha course on Wednesdays at 10am - a chance to look in more detail at who Jesus is and why he came - and to bring lots of questions (answers not guaranteed 😆) Do come along and invite anyone who might be interested - anyone’s welcome to turn up and if poss just let me know for coffee and cake supplies.
