On Monday evening everyone was invited to join a Zoom workshop to help us to think about how we can make church accessible for all - to really mean what we say, that 'you're welcome here.' There'll have been a time when most of us have found that one or other aspect of church has distracted us from worship -whether the font's a bit small (I'm glad of my computer on hand to help me see what's being projected!), it's hard to hear, mobility's tricky or whatever. I've become a bit complacent about accessibility at St Francis - after all, we don't have many stairs! But of course we don't notice the areas that don't trip us up.
And in order to truly welcome all, I'm really glad of some help to think this through to discover areas others find tricky and to share the bits where I could do with a bit of help.
