Don't worry - it's not a personal question regarding any extra Christmas pounds. Nothing but sympathy on that one! But I wonder how you're spending your time at the moment? Some will be trying to fit in much more than usual and juggling responsibilities, whereas others maybe have more time for reflection. It's been said before: this may be the same storm for us all, but our boats - and the challenges - are all different.
But as the vaccine rolls out, maybe you, like me, are beginning to wonder about how and when we might return to pre-Covid activities, and whether things will ever be quite the same again. Indeed, whether we'd want them to be the same again!
One way that we can prepare to go back to church is by thinking about where we're called to serve within the body of Christ. We're all called to serve somewhere - and it isn't onerous as God calls each one of us to a certain role at a certain time. When we serve in that role, it's fulfilling - we're a round peg in a round hole - rather than feeling exhausted by being a square peg in a round hole! So the question is, what shape are you and where do you best fit?
Maybe we've been on the coffee rota for years and now's the time to stop! Maybe we've always been interested in helping in junior church but not felt confident. In our Lent course, there's an opportunity to review what 'SHAPE' you are! Let's take this opportunity together, so that, as Christ's body, we might get fit for a new season.
